January tends to have a higher rate of illness, regardless of where you live. If you´ve made it to February without any illnesses within your household, consider yourself lucky! Chances are, however, that you´ve not only dealt with illnesses, but you´ve also used your FSA debit card to pay for doctor´s office visits, prescriptions, and the like. Most of the time, such expenses are auto-adjudicated, meaning PayFlex (FSA Administrator for ESG clients) does not require you to submit receipts and/or explanations of benefits (EOB´s) for substantiation to prove that your card swipe was for a legitimate expense. If, however, the coding is not clear to PayFlex from the register where you used your FSA debit card, you will receive notice that PayFlex needs substantiation for the swipe.
PayFlex has created a new debit card activity feature where users, upon logging in, can view card status, outstanding card transactions, and provide receipts all in one place. To see all three scenarios of card status that you may see upon logging into your PayFlex account, click here. For further information, contact your ESG Representative at 888-810-8187.
